About Main River academy
Main River Academy opened in 2000 under the jurisdiction of the former Western Newfoundland School District. It was built to replace the aging Sop's Arm Central High. When it opened it was and still is the only school servicing the Jackson's Arm, Pollard's Point and Sop's Arm area. Since it's opening it has been a K-12 school.
Currently, we have a population of approximately 65 students with a teaching staff of 8 units. We offer the standard provincial curriculum and a variety of extra curricular activities.
